“Officers responded to the decedent’s residence where he was to be arrested for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and Interference with an emergency call. While officers approached the decedent he made two gestures with his right arm, as he reached towards his back as if he was going to display a weapon and would use a forward motion in attempts to bait the officers, into a suicide by cop. The third time the decedent did this motion towards his back, the officers deployed one Taser X26 on the decedent. EMS was called to the scene and the decedent was cleared for incarceration. The decedent was transported to the station where he was booked on the above mentioned charges. The decedent was placed in the holding cell, where he fell asleep for almost three hours. The jail staff advised that the decedent was snoring very loudly, and when he stopped, that is when they checked on him and found him to be unresponsive. Jail staff and officers began CPR on the decedent and EMS arrived where he was transported to the Hospital for treatment. The decedent expired three days later in the Hospital.

6-28-2017 Elizabeth J. Miller,M.D. issued a finding based on the autopsy of Cavazos. Dr. Miller cited Acute Combined Drug Toxicity as the cause of death.”
