We have been informed that Howard County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 2, Robert F. Fitzgibbons Jr was arrested by the Howard County Sheriff’s Office for Misuse of Official Information.

We also learned the Big Spring Police Department filed a warrant for Mr. Fitzgibbons for stalking.

The Big Spring Herald posted a publishing on the matter. It has very limiting information. The story was also published on News West 9, KWES-TV

Jail records seem to show an offense date of December 22, 2020, for stalking and January 6, 2021, for the misuse of official information. The county does not seem to have court records posted publicly on their website.

A screenshot from the Howard County, Texas website shows Mr. Fitzgibbons as the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 2. We are unsure how the charges will affect his duties as a Justice of the Peace.

Mr. Fitzgibbons was release on Personal Recognizance.
