Mercedes ISD Superintendent Arrested
The Mercedes Public Safety Department, commonly referred to as the Mercedes Police Department, published a press release identifying the Mercedes Independent School District (ISD) Superintendent was arrested.
The press release indicates Carolyn Ann Mendiola is accused of interference with public duties.
The Mercedes Public Safety Department indicated the allegations are within their case report, given number 2213828. Mendiola was given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
She received magistrate for the arrest by Alamo Municipal Court Judge Celia Garcia. She was transported to Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
The details on the case, are very limited; however, it should be noted the Mercedes ISD has had quite a few arrests in the past weeks, and even going through the past years.
A String of Arrests Have Occurred Within Mercedes ISD
About two days ago, another member of Mercedes ISD was arrested for injury to a disabled child.
About the same time frame, a Mercedes ISD security guard was arrested for making ‘terroristic threats.’ In this case, the security guard worked for MLG Security Services and appeared to be a contracted security officer for Mercedes ISD.
About three weeks ago, a Mercedes ISD employee was accused of having an improper relationship with a student.
In June of 2021, a prior Mercedes ISD coach was arrested, again, for more allegations he sexually assaulted individuals.
