Dear Mr. Ferrara,
Thank you for your reporting on this topic. I would invite you to consider the Hays Trinity Groundwater District’s position. Please contact the District offices for a correction on some of the details as you’ve reported from AQUA Texas’s press release. For example, the District has never threatened to (nor would we ever consider) threatening AQUA Texas customers’ access to water. Put simply, Aqua Texas has not abided by its permit from the District and has failed to keep its infrastructure in shape, resulting in the ongoing overproduction of its permit. This is to the detriment of the citizens of Wimberley and Woodcreek, including Aqua’s own customers, who do their best to conserve.
Our contact information is on our website http://www.haysgroundwater.com. I look forward to visiting with you. Charlie Flatten, General Manager, Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District.
